NHPC–NSDC CSR Initiative for Empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)

Under the CSR partnership between NHPC Ltd and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), special emphasis has been placed on enhancing the employability of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through targeted skill development and placement support. This initiative aligns with national priorities of inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods.

Key Highlights of the PwD-Focused NHPC–NSDC CSR Scheme:

• Skill Training: A total of 360 PwD candidates have been trained in high-demand sectors such as Apparel and Electronics, with training conducted at Haldwani, Nainital, Uttarakhand through the NIACE Foundation.

• Placement Assistance: Over 65% of the trained candidates have secured employment with reputed organizations including Flipkart, Amazon, Taj Resorts, and SPARK MINDA Corporation, among others.

• Post-Placement Support: Ongoing mentorship and support mechanisms have been established to ensure employment retention and workplace integration.

• Career Progression: Beneficiaries are encouraged to pursue upskilling opportunities and are supported in their journey toward long-term career advancement.

This initiative has demonstrated measurable impact in transforming the lives of PwDs by equipping them with market-relevant skills and connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities. It stands as a model of inclusive development under NHPC’s CSR mandate and NSDC’s national skilling framework.
